Biography

Nicki Adderley is a Professor of Health Informatics and Epidemiology at the University of Birmingham. She leads the Health Informatics and Multimorbidity team within the Department of Applied Health Sciences, a multi-disciplinary group of researchers and clinicians who aim to use real world, routinely collected data to produce high quality research on epidemiology, clinical practice and health care utilisation relevant to patients and clinicians. She is also Deputy Theme Lead for the Birmingham BRC Data, Diagnostics and Decision Tools theme; and Lead for Equality, Diversity and Inclusion for the School of Health Sciences.

Nicki is an experienced epidemiologist, with expertise in designing and conducting epidemiological studies using a range of designs; analysing large, routinely collected primary and secondary health care datasets; developing and validating prediction models for use in health care; and pharmacoepidemiology. Her work spans a wide range of health conditions, but she has a particular interest in cardiometabolic disease, including cardiovascular diseases and type 2 diabetes.
