Biography

Sheikh is an Academic Clinical Fellow (ACF) in Neurosurgery, based at the University of Birmingham and West Midlands Deanery. He graduated from University College London in 2018 with his medical degree, preceded by an intercalated degree in Neuroscience in 2015. His interests lie in traumatic brain injury, functional neurosurgery and spinal neurosurgery. As part of his ACF, he has undertaken Data Science and Research Methods taught modules.

Sheikh is actively exploring methods of integrating healthcare data to predict outcomes following traumatic brain injury, working with Professor Belli from the University of Birmingham. He is also interested in exploring novel techniques to treat neurological disorders. He has a strong belief in the use of data to improve the efficiency of daily patient care and improving outcomes. He is actively looking to network with fellow members of the HDR Network.
