Tom Giles is a respected team leader at the University of Nottingham Digital Research Service. In addition to his role at the University of Nottingham, Tom is seconded 50% of his time to HDR UK, where he plays a critical role in exploring how open life sciences tooling can be used to build an ecosystem of tools around the HDR Innovation Gateway, an important platform for advancing the use of data science in healthcare.

Tom is also a passionate advocate for open science and the use of open-source software in research. He actively promotes best practices for research software engineering and has made significant contributions to the development of open-source software, resulting in the creation of valuable resources for the research community.
