Biography
James Reed is a Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist at Birmingham & Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust.
James is also the Chief Clinical Information Officer (CCIO) of the Trust and was appointed to this role in 2013.
He is one of the longest serving CCIOs in the NHS and has helped to pioneer the concept of clinical leadership in IT and technology. He currently chairs the National CCIO Network run by Digital Health.
He has participated in local, regional and national work on clinical IT (including the ‘Your Care Connected’ and MERIT vanguard data sharing projects) and advises various national bodies including the Royal College of Psychiatrists and the Professional Records Standards Body.
