In a significant boost to health research efforts in the Midlands region, Professor Joseph Manning MBE, Professor of Nursing and Child Health from the University of Leicester/Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust has been appointed to the leadership team of Health Data Research UK (HDR UK) Midlands.

The appointment marks a pivotal moment in the region’s healthcare landscape as it emphasises the crucial role of nurses in driving innovative research initiatives.

Professor Manning, a clinical-academic children’s nurse, brings with him a wealth of experience from a distinguished career in both nursing and research. His leadership in numerous research projects across the UK has not only contributed to advancements in healthcare but has also paved the way for transformative changes in patient care.

Health Data Research UK (HDR UK) is the national institute for health data science which is committed to harnessing the power of health data to improve care and save lives. Through collaboration and innovation, HDR UK seeks to address healthcare challenges by leveraging data-driven insights and fostering interdisciplinary partnerships.
